I create from feeling first. Before the brush touches canvas, before the lens captures light — I sit with the mood, the memory, the moment I want to preserve.
My work lives at the intersection of the tactile and the emotional. Silk because it moves the way feeling does. Oil paint because it insists on slowing down. Photography because truth has never needed embellishment — just the right light.
Growing up with roots in multiple cultures taught me that beauty is not one thing. It's a conversation — between heritage and modernity, structure and spontaneity, the self and the world it moves through.

Every work begins with a mood — a candle burning low, the quality of winter light through sheer curtains, the electric feeling of a stage in full flight.
Paintings are built in oil and acrylic on canvas. Photography developed and colour-graded for emotional truth over literal accuracy. Silk designs drawn at full HD.
Wearable art is produced on demand by Art of Where — Montreal's finest print studio — using archival inks, reactive dyes, and premium silk fabrics. No waste, no excess.
Each piece ships carefully from the studio or from Art of Where. Original works are framed and insured. Every order arrives as a gift — because that's what it is.

Made with hands, lived with heart
Miriam grew up in a household where beauty was never an accident — it was a practice. Tablecloths were pressed. Music was vinyl. The act of setting a table was considered as important as what you placed on it.
That sensibility — that everything we touch can be intentional, everything we create can be an act of care — is the foundation of what Miriam Khan the brand is. Not luxury for its own sake, but beauty as a form of love.
At 34, Miriam splits her time between her studio in the Mile End neighbourhood of Montréal, the concert halls and festival fields she inhabits on weekends, and the streets she walks with Cleo — her rescue terrier mix and most loyal creative collaborator.
She has mixed heritage that spans cultures and continents, and her aesthetic reflects that: it is never just one thing. It borrows from everywhere. It commits to warmth.
